What people use it for

Spot what they just launched

Sitemaps give pages the date they last changed. With the newest first, the product pages, integrations and posts a competitor added this month are at the top.

Map a site before a teardown

Every pricing, product, docs and blog page in one list, grouped by section, instead of clicking through menus and footers.

Pick the pages worth watching

Choose the key pages, like pricing and the changelog, and SpyGlow tells you when they change.

Questions

Where the list comes from, what it leaves out, and how long it is kept.

Is it free?

Yes. Without an account you can run the free tools 5 times a day, and a list stops at 5,000 pages. A free SpyGlow account gets 100 tool credits a month and lists up to 50,000 pages; a run uses 1 credit.

Where do the pages come from?

From the site's sitemaps: the ones its robots.txt lists, or the standard sitemap addresses when it lists none. Sitemap indexes are followed. For a site with no sitemap, the list is the pages its homepage links to.

Why is a page missing?

A sitemap lists what the site chooses to list, so a page it leaves out does not appear. Pages behind a login never do. A very large site is cut at the list's limit, and the result says so.

What does newest first mean?

A sitemap can give each page the date it last changed. Pages with a date come first, newest at the top, and pages without one follow. The date is the one the site reports.

Does the tool open every page?

No. It reads the sitemaps (or the homepage, when there is no sitemap) as SpyGlowBot and follows the site's robots.txt. It does not load the pages themselves.

How long is the list kept?

For 24 hours without an account. With an account, it stays in your tool history for your plan's history period: 7 days on Free, 30 days on Pro and 90 days on Growth and Teams.

Can I find out when a page changes?

Yes. Pick the key pages under the list and choose Monitor. SpyGlow then checks them with your other competitor pages and tells you what moved. The Free plan watches 2 competitors with 3 pages each.
