AskGlow

Ask questions about your competitors and your market, and get answers from your SpyGlow data with the sources behind them.

Before a call or a planning meeting you need a quick answer: what did a competitor change, how do they price against you, what should your team do next. AskGlow is the chat in SpyGlow, and it answers from what SpyGlow already knows about your market. Open AskGlow in the sidebar.

What it answers from

AskGlow reads your SpyGlow workspace:

your company profile: what you sell, who you sell to and how you position it
the competitors you track
your monitoring history: the changes SpyGlow found on their sites
your battle cards and reports
other work saved in SpyGlow, such as competitor news, SEO audits, content gaps, keywords, AI Visibility results and actions

It can also answer questions about SpyGlow itself, such as what your plan includes.

Ask a question

Type your question and press Enter (Shift+Enter adds a new line; on a phone, tap send). For example: "What did Acme change this month?", "How does Acme price against us?" or "What should sales say about Acme?"

On a new chat, Battle card, Content draft, Action plan and Live intel under the box fill in a longer question you can edit before you send it.

While AskGlow works, it shows what it is doing. To stop, click the square Stop generating button. You keep the part already written, marked Stopped, and Regenerate tries again.

Web search

Under the message box, open Tools and click Web Search. A check mark means it is on. It starts on, and SpyGlow remembers your choice in this browser.

On: AskGlow can also look things up on the web, such as recent news, funding or launch coverage.
Off: AskGlow answers only from your SpyGlow data.

Sources

When an answer uses sources, a button such as 4 sources appears under it. Click it to see:

From your SpyGlow data: the changes, battle cards, competitors and other records the answer used. Click one to open it.
Web sources: each page with its title, site and date when known. They open in a new tab.

Inside the answer, a web source shows as a small chip with the site name. Hover it to see the page title, or click it to jump to that source.

Confirm before anything changes

AskGlow never changes your workspace by itself. When you ask it to create something, it adds a Proposed change card under the answer. Nothing happens until you click Confirm. Click Dismiss to drop it.

A proposal can:

create an action in Actions, with its steps
generate a battle card, or prepare an update to a saved card for you to review in Battle cards
open the Add Competitor setup with the domain filled in
add a page to monitor for a tracked competitor
change a tracked competitor's alert threshold

After you confirm, the card says what happened and links to the result, such as Open action. Your plan's usual limits apply, so a battle card AskGlow generates uses one of your battle card generations for the month.

Rate, copy and export

Under each answer, click thumbs up (Good answer) or thumbs down (Bad answer). After a thumbs down you can pick a reason, such as Incorrect or Missing data, and add a comment.
Copy an answer with its copy button. Next to your question you can copy it, or edit it and send it again.
To download a chat, click Export chat (the download button at the top) and pick Markdown or JSON.

Chat history and the floating chat

Click Chat history (the clock button, top left) to see past chats grouped by date. You can search them, start a New chat, open Saved questions, and rename, export or delete a chat from its menu.

On most dashboard pages, an AskGlow button sits in the bottom right corner. It opens AskGlow in a side panel, so you can ask without leaving the page. The panel has its own history, New chat and Open in full view. Buttons such as Ask AskGlow on an action or AI summary on Changes open the panel with a question filled in.

Choose the brand

If you run more than one brand (domain) in SpyGlow, AskGlow answers for the one selected at the top of the sidebar. Switch there before you ask. See Brands and profile.

Monthly questions

Each question you send uses one AskGlow question. The line under the message box shows how many you have used this month.

When you run out, AskGlow offers an upgrade. Your allowance resets each month.

Tips

Name the competitor and the time frame, and say what the answer is for, such as a sales call.
Ask follow-ups in the same chat.
Check the sources before you share an answer. AI can make mistakes.
