Changes and change reports
Find what your competitors changed, read the evidence, and share or export it.
When SpyGlow finds a change on a competitor's pages, it writes a change report: what changed, why it matters, what to do, and the before and after evidence. Every report lands on the Changes page.
The Changes page
Open Changes in the sidebar. The cards at the top count Total changes, Unread, High impact and This week. Pick a view:
- Needs attention (the default) shows Critical and High changes.
- All changes shows everything.
- Medium and Low show those levels only.
Each row shows the change, the competitor, its type, impact, confidence and when it was detected. Unread changes are marked with a dot. Click a row to open its report. If you have more than one domain, the page shows changes for the domain picked in the sidebar.
Filter and search
- Search changes looks through titles, summaries and competitor names.
- All competitors narrows the list to one competitor.
- All types filters by category: Pricing & Plans, Product & Features, Content & Messaging, Design & UX, Hiring & Team, Integrations, Press & News, Legal & Compliance, Market & Positioning, or Other.
- The status filter offers Unread only, Dismissed, or both.
Clear resets the filters. SpyGlow remembers your filters in this browser.
Act on a change
Each row's menu has View details, Copy link, Visit website, Mark as read, Create action, Ask AskGlow, Dismiss and Delete. Dismiss takes a change out of your review queue; the Dismissed filter brings it back into view. Delete removes it for good.
Tick several rows to Mark as read, Export or delete them together. Create action works when one change is selected.
At the top of the page, AI summary asks AskGlow to sum up recent changes, and Manage notifications opens alert settings for a competitor.
How changes are scored
Each change gets an importance score from 1 to 10 and a label: Critical, High, Medium or Low. It also gets a type, such as Pricing & Plans, and a confidence level. The score decides which changes reach you as alerts. See Alerts and notifications.
Inside a change report
The top of the report shows its label, the number of pricing changes if any, the confidence level, a headline and a summary. Then come Main takeaway, Why it matters, What changed, What to do and Confidence.
Affected pages lists each page that changed, with its type, label and importance score. Click a page to open its evidence:
- Summary: what changed on that page, with its score out of 10.
- Text diff: the old and new text, shown Inline or Side by side. Show unchanged adds the surrounding text.
- Screenshots: the page Before and After the change, when screenshots were taken.
If some pages could not be read during that check, the report lists them.
Site-wide edits show once
When the same edit appears across many of a competitor's pages, such as a new menu link or a footer change, the report shows it once as a shared change, with the number of pages it touched. Pages whose only change is that shared edit are dimmed in Affected pages, so the page-specific changes stand out.
Share, copy and export
On a report:
- PDF downloads the report.
- Share creates a read-only link. Anyone with the link can read this report without signing in. They cannot edit it or see anything else in your workspace. Choose whether it expires after 7, 30 or 90 days. The full link is shown once, so copy it then. Revoke a link at any time from the same dialog, which also shows how often each link was opened.
- Copy copies the report as text. Choose which sections to include.
- The menu next to Copy has Create action, Send to email (sends the report to your account email) and Send to Slack (Pro and above, once Slack is connected).
- Battle card creates or opens a battle card for the competitor, and Ask opens AskGlow with the report.
On the Changes page, Copy link copies a link to the change in SpyGlow, and Export downloads the selected changes as a CSV file.
