Competitor news
Follow news coverage of the competitors you care about, on a schedule you set.
Website changes show what a competitor does on its own site. Competitor news shows what others write about them: launches, funding, hiring, partnerships, press and risks. You choose which competitors to follow and when SpyGlow collects their news.
Competitor news is on Pro, Growth and Teams. On Free, News in the sidebar is locked and opens the upgrade options.
Plan limits
| Pro | Growth | Teams | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Competitors you can follow | 3 | 15 | 30 |
| How often news is collected | Weekly | Twice weekly | Daily |

Set up your news schedule
- Open News in the sidebar and click Set up news schedule.
- Under Competitors to follow, select the competitors you want, up to your plan's limit. Competitors that are paused or inactive cannot be selected.
- Turn on Enable scheduled news reports.
- Choose the Frequency, a Local time and a Timezone. For weekly news, pick a Report day. For twice weekly, pick two Report days.
- Check when the next run will be, then click Save news schedule.
Nothing is collected until you save. In a team workspace, only the workspace owner can change the schedule.
The News schedule bar at the top of the page shows whether news is Scheduled, Paused or Not set up, how many competitors you follow and when the next run is. Click Edit news schedule to change it, or Pause news reports to stop collecting.
Each run is also saved in Reports, with links to the articles it used. News reports are not sent by email.
What a news item shows
- The headline, which opens the article.
- The source, the competitor and when it was published.
- A short summary.
- A category: Product, Funding, Hiring, Partnerships, Press or Risk.
- The sentiment: Positive, Neutral or Negative.
- A High priority badge on the items that matter most.
- Why?, which opens Why this news? and explains why the item matters to you.
Hover over an item to star it, click Analyze with AskGlow to ask what it means for you, or open its menu to Mark as read, Open article or Dismiss it. Opening an article marks it as read. Unread items have a colored edge.

- Filter by time range (Last 7 days up to Last year), category and sentiment.
